History of Soy Candles

The use of soy wax for making candles is quite a new innovation - and a completely American invention.
The credit goes to Michael Richards, who began a business called Candleworks to make beeswax candles in 1990, and quickly found that there was a substantial demand for candles made from natural waxes.

Just as quickly, he found that beeswax was 10 times as expensive as the usual candle wax, which was made from petroleum. But he found a solution..
While he kept up his beeswax business, Michael started experimenting with various vegetable oil blends, and by 1994 he was mixing soybean oil and beeswax to manufacture a less expensive candle made of natural products.
By 1996 he was able to produce candles almost entirely from soybean oil, although other vegetable oils were added in small quantities to improve the appearance and achieve a better scent "throw".

He was also able to develop soy waxes with varying melting points - so that he could use a lower melting point for candles in containers, and a higher melting point for pillar candles

Wide range of soy wax products

The variety of candles made from soy wax these days is quite astonishing, although the primary use is probably in the many shapes and sizes of soy pillar candles, container candles, ordinary scented soy wax candles and aromatherapy soy candles.

The business now is quite mature, and you can buy discounted or wholesale soy candles, soy wax supplies for making your own soy candles at home, and even soy tea light candles!

Farmers also jumped at the chance to increase the sale of soybeans, and working with the Indiana Soybean Board, launched a brand called Harvest Lights in 1998.
Environmentalists like the fact that soy wax candles are made from a renewable resource, as do those who are more health conscious. The conversion of soy candle wax has now become a national industry, with consumption easily passing the 100 million bushel mark.

Not bad going for a local inventor and a group of determined farmers, who have combined to create a huge industry based on soy wax candles.

Soy wax advantages For those interested in aromatherapy, soy wax offers a number of advantages that can make it preferable to normal candle wax.

It has all the usual soy benefits - a natural wax that burns up to 50% longer than paraffin wax:

produces less soot; and is very easy to clean. Spilt soy wax can be easily cleaned up with hot soapy water.
A particular benefit is that because aromatherapy soy candles burn cooler, the scent "throw" (the degree to which the fragrance is dispersed throughout the room) is improved.

Massage is probably the best method and oils must be used with base oils like sweet almond, which makes oil less strong and easy to use. Applying oil to those places were fatty tissues are more, will really help to reduce the fat level and make your physique well shaped.

Essential oils used here are not only sweet smelling but have also the capacity to make your digestive system good, that in turn also helps in weight reduction. How ever, one must see that the oils used should be in moderate amount and mixed with carrier oil before using.

A calculated dosage, rigorous exercise-workout and a strict diet will go a long way in achieving a significant weight loss.
